RUTH GRAHAM

National Correspondent at the New York Times covering religion, faith and values

“Fake News!” has been one of the most common phrases utilized over the recent years. As Christians, we are committed to discerning the truth and speaking the truth. The current political climate has made it so that different groups hold different truths about the same events. Add to that the saturation of information made available through social media and internet platforms and there is simply too much to sift through. How do we tell which news is real and which news is fake? How do we discern through the differences, not only in opinions, but in the facts themselves? Who can you trust? How do you know? Is the mainstream media as misleading as some claim them to be? Are those on Youtube truly holding mainstream media accountable? How do we know?

Ruth Graham, graduate of Wheaton College and National Correspondent at the New York Times covering religion, faith and values, will pull back the curtain to give us insight into how she sees media discernment as a critical component of discipleship in a digital age. She will be interviewed by Ray Chang as she shares her insights into how her faith background shapes her engagement on navigating the media landscape.
