2024-2025 Book of the Year
We are so excited to dive into Talking Back to Purity Culture as a ministry this year. Author Rachel Joy Welcher doesn’t shy away from any hot topic, addressing a wide variety of issues from unbiblical ideas taught about sex, to the idolization of virginity in the church. Both participants and their leaders, along with leaders and their coaches, will be working through this rich book in their groups.

“ ‘There are good things in many of these books’. . . ‘But,’ I said, “I can’t think of a single one I would recommend reading in isolation. What we need more of is conversation. Instead of trying to find the perfect book, let’s keep talking about sexuality and purity out loud. Together. In community. Pick up any of these books, but read them with someone else and, whatever you do, keep the dialogue going.’ ”
